Help about spam messages/messages not sending

Hi all!

I've recently just become frustrated at the fact that sending messages too quickly on steam just... doesn't send them through, PERIOD. If you send two messages fast enough one after the other, the second WILL NOT send through, almost guaranteed.

However, this seems to ONLY affect me when I'm just casually typing to someone. My typing speed is rather fast, so it's obviously because I'm typing too quickly and I should just slow down to avoid it, but my actual issue stems from my lack of understanding of the core concept.

For instance, if I INTENTIONALLY spam messages, spamming small letters + enter over and over, they almost never get deleted, and I am instead returned the message "Slow down, you are sending messages too quickly" only after a repeated amount of them have been sent.

This leads me to believe that the former concept of anti-spam is either highly situational and hidden, or a bug.


TL;DR:
How does steam's anti-spam measures work specifically, and is a specific issue (detailed above) unintentionally negatively effecting me, or am I simply on the receiving end of a highly situational bug?

FYI:
-I do use a steam skin that changes the visual elements of almost every part of steam, including the new chat update. It does not add any additional functionality, however.
-This issue has only been effecting me since the new steam chat update, and I've only noticed it in the past year or so.

Why do you need to spam? Just post like a normal person, and no not trying to be rude either.

Anti-spam I assume means don't spam letter per message rapidly, just type out the word, or message.

You're asking for help with your rapid spam problem, which the answer is don't rapidly spam messages to the person.

There, when this was first introduced, i did a bit of testing to see how it really triggers the cooldown.

I did also comment on false-positives, but the idea here is that you need to avoid single line spams.
