Join game button is gone
So I don't know what caused this but when I right click a friend that's playing a game, instead of "Join game" or "Invite to game" I see "Show on steam" which takes me to store page and it's super annoying because I need to get an invitation every time to join. Has anyone had this problem or even fixed it?

Don't know how common this problem is, but I've seen threads about it crop up with no answers. I have it right now and older solutions or workarounds don't solve the issue. Fresh reinstall doesn't seem to work either. I've gotten into contact with Steam Support and they just told me about a month back on April 22nd, "We don't have a fix for you at this time." Would love to know if anyone else has other workarounds.

Okay so I think I actually found a fix for this issue: Bring up the task manager. Go to the details tab. Find steamwebhelper.exe in the list. (There will be more than one but it does not matter which you choose.) Right click and choose properties. Go to compatibility. Check the box for "Run as administrator" and click apply. Launch steam. An error message will pop up saying that the webhelper is running in compatibility. IMPORTANT. DO NOT CLICK RESTART. Click continue. If steam does not start up then run steam again. Problem should be fixed as this is exactly what I did and it worked for me. Let me know if this works for you as well!

Didn't work for me. Blank black screen on store page and it seems I cannot sign in to friends list, profile appears to be in offline mode or something.

I had this problem before and what fixed it for me was switching my status from online to away or some other status and changing back.

Opt out of Steam beta updates to see if it's just an issue with that branch (assuming you're opted in).
