How to uninstall expired demo
A couple of weeks ago I downloaded the time limited demo for the game Eldest Souls.
The demo period is now over and the game has been removed from my library.
The problem is I can't seem to uninstall it.

Trying to uninstall it from programs and features in control panel just makes the steam window pop up and then it does nothing. I've tried restarting steam but to no avail.
Of course I could just manually delete the folder, but I'd much rather get it removed the proper way to not get any leftover files and registry settings.
Does anybody have any tips on how to properly uninstall the demo?

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately the results are the same. Steam just pops up and does nothing.

What happens if you go through the programs and features via the control panel but do it when signed out of Steam?

Steam starts up to this screen and nothing happens. Steam continues as usual as soon as I click on anything like Store or Library.

Delete cache, and cookies, restart steam, then try again for either of the options.

Delete the folder manually.

^Do this. Manually delete game folder, and delete game .acf file found in the Steamapp folder, the numbers will be the same as the ID for the game. Here an exmaple 1261890 for Eldest Souls, look for appmanifest_1261890.acf to delete, that's about it, then relaunch Steam.

This is just manually deleting the game though, that is what I wanted to avoid.
I want to uninstall it properly to remove trace files and registry leftovers.
No change after clearing cache.

Either something wrong with your client, or something interfering with uninstalling it.

- Can opt in or out of Steam beta.
- Can reinstall Steam.

Or manually delete things.

I leave this here, as this is what you're suppose to see when you uninstall by command from broswer, example I be using Maria the Witch as an example. https://imgur.com/KXKj1pZ

To anyone finding this thread in google searches of the problem - use the "Remove from account" option, it also happens to uninstall the game as I just found by trying random stuff.

Because this is a new function as of 2024, not back in 2020.

This thread was quite old before the recent posts, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
