Region lock. Hello from Russia.
Hello people.
I'm from Russia. My problem is: I like english lang in games and a absolutly dislike russian lang in games as most of the translations are bad. Actors speak with no emotions etc. So i was seraching for a way to buy games with no region lock. (I tried amazon but most of the games are not there for PC). trading is also that much of an option as ppl now sell stuff with abnormal prices. So i saw that you can change your store country. If i switch to US for example. I will ofc see prices in $. But will i be able to buy any games then? When i will use card to add funds My bank can ofc transfer Rub into $ but will it work on Steam end?

anyone have a thought/suggestion/experience in such stuff. I will appreciate any help here. Thank you in advance.

No. Changing your Steam Store country will not enable to you buy games in the US store, unless you are physically in the USA.

You could still buy from authorized resellers that sell international copies. Don't know which one do for Russians.
You have my sympathy, as i have similar issues with German translations. At least we normally get to choose the language.

When i go to watch dogs 2 page there is a statement: "You will recieve only Russian lang when you buy in this region.". If I set english language in any region locked game it won't start.

Some games like metro they are ofc must be played in Russian. I will not disagreen on that. But as to call of duty. Russian translation is bad.

Thats a publisher choice and as such you cannot bypass it

I sometimes manage to convince support of EA or Ubisoft to give me english pack (for "the division" i actually got it). But most of the time support sends me a link to some website where ppl discuss stuff like this. And say like they won't provide me english pack.

Ye, thought of some resellers. looked amazon first. It is an option but as i said some games just don't have PC page on amazon.
developers usually outsource their translations and voiceovers. most are terrible and there is no real way to fix that.
but, like with croteam games, they not only outsource but encourage players to help correcting poorly translated lines in games.

Ye i know that. choice for a region i leave it. I was wondering if i manually choose US for example will it let me but GLOBAL keys of the game with no lock.
There are other sites as well.
You could look for good deals using the special price comparison website http://www.isthereanydeal.com
It uses legitimate resellers and you can look for the best deal and those sites should tell you if you get a russian copy or not. Most generally tell you which languages are offered in the game.

Ye russian is mostly done by russian teams. Voice won't fit the character or as i mentioned no emotions while talking. Imagine a scene where a main char dies and everyone around him like "ahhh fu that guy. die already"
