that doesnt always mean the comptuers getting ready to fail though, could mean it just has some errors in the hd.
one thing to try just incase and wont hurt to try is an disk check.
visit computer-properties of drive C - tools and error checking.
it wont run well your on the computer so schedule one for later.
as itll take an few hours possibly, time usually goes by HD size.

Seem like it is a effed software installation, as you said reinstaling steam might/will fix it. you can move your games folder somewhere and delete steam reinstall then move your games folder to the correct place.
It's only around a year and a half old
goes by if any faults appear in the making of it or how hard its worked.
but hopefully its not anything like that.
as for disk check its something which should be done possibly monthly.
there is other tune up methods for computers which help keep them in good shape.
like defragging the HD, or cleaning the registry.
now this has me wondering what programs steam requires to run.
Well this happened right after I ended my antivirus program in task manager because it was using a lot of memory, making stuff lag. Maybe I unknowingly corrupted something?
so this happened same day directly after it?
also do you always delog daily, or do you leave steam active, i ask as a recent update is causing trouble for many which sometimes people think the problems based on something that day when its actually from an past day, prob not the reason but best to ask.
also what antivirus program was it, since they tend to have tie ins into each program.
so chance maybe just maybe the ending program could effect other programs.
sorry if not much help bit tired atm, so just tossing mainly possibles.
other then the diskcheck and tuneup which could possibly help.
the other things are all ideas, but unsure what the root cause could be.
but yeah, if you leave your computer on you may think problem cause is from today.
when possible was from another day.
id say run diskcheck and tuneups just to see if it helps at all.
iobit.com has systemcare which can help tuneup side.
also be wary of reinstalling steam, it sometimes fixs things, but doesnt always.
which if you do be sure to move screenshots and games to another area as steam auto deletes them upon deinstall.
My antivirus is Webroot antivirus, and I would say there is a possibility that it could be and update but this happened before when I went into the task manager to delete something that differen't about three weeks ago. Reinstalling steam worked then and I only just put two and two together. I just don't have the internet to reinstall steam now to download all the games again.
I would move the games into a different folder but I'm not experienced at all in doing that so I'm not sure how to do it correctly.
moving the games is also simple, yet im unsure how you get them to work again without steam trying to redownload them in full.
id explain which folders and everything but the folders are an little bit deep.
i think games would be under program files.
so search steam for that little searching and ull find them easy.
screenshots wise i cant fully remember where there located.
both of these should have documents online explaining where to find them.
I also have webroot antivirus and it was causing a blue screen problem with my whole computer before. I fixed it after trying 100 different things but it still happens every time I log into steam and try to open any games.
yooo i found the fix here.

Instead of uninstalling avast like it said I just uninstalled webroot. I'll reinstall webroot later to see if it still works.
Could you all please see if disabling "AsusGameFirstService.exe" prevents the BSOD while running Webroot SecureAnywhere? Also, are you on an Asus ROG system?
Please feel free to send me any additional information directly: SocialCare@Webroot.com

i ask not for myself but for everyone else, since we know there are scammers out there.
so id rather just see everyone safe v.s sorry.
that being said, im not saying you arent who you say you are.
im just asking for verification that you work for said company.
as ive met many on steam who take advantage of others far too often.
so dont take this the wrong way, as if you work in an antivirus company you know all too well how many people fall for the tricks people lay.
