SOLUTION: mac mic not working for steam

there is the solution:

Make Steam ask for permissions by executing following steps:

Add the following key in the Info.plist of Steam app

<key>NSMicrophoneUsageDescription</key>
<string>Voice chat</string>
Info.plist can be found in “/Applications/Steam.app/Contents/Info.plist”

Delete the cached Info.plist of the application by executing following command in terminal
defaults delete /Applications/Steam.app/Contents/Info.plist

Relaunch Steam and go to Voice setting tab. Press test microphone and steam will ask for permissions. Allow it and it will start working.

i get the following feedback. What could be the issue?

I still need more help: I'm sorry I'm such a computer numb nut! Will you please please explain how to execute the steps and delete the cached files more thoroughly for me? Where do I add that key? And do I delete the cached Info.plist in the same location, or a different terminal (is terminal defaults different than the Info.plist location where I'm supposed to add the key? When I tried, I got a message saying access denied also.
