They are pressure sensitive, so yeah. L1/L2 and the four face buttons were analog as well. Same is true for the PS3 controller. I remember playing Warthunder on a PS3 controller mapping the X and O buttons to axis' for throttle and brake so i could play Warthunder like it was Ace Combat.
I notice a very popular mod for PS4 and XBO controllers is to reduce over travel, essentially turning their triggers into buttons. Analog triggers are more of a downside for everything that isn't a racing or flying game. The PS2 controller gives you the best of both worlds.
