I have a game named "Spacewar" listed as recently played games on my Profile
Hey, I looked on my Steam profile a minute ago and found "Spacewar" listed as recently played and I have no idea why it's listed as recently played.
I'm not sure if I should be worried or if this is some kind of hacking my account thing but mainly just confused and wondering if anyone else had this happen to them too.

Thanks for reading my post.

Spacewar is a tool for developers to test Steam API integration.
Also its used by some pirated games to circumvent Steam DRM.
So... you either played a pirated game that makes use of that function or you are a game developer that tests Steam functionality for his game project.

There is really no other reason to run Spacewar outside of these 2 options.

it is because the dev shipped the steam_appid.txt along the build, so simply tell the dev to either change the appid in that file or remove it as it is not needed.

I don't pirate games and I'm no developer so I'm even more confused but thanks for answering. Though I did have some problems earlier from a mod manager launcher, for Total War: Warhammer 2, and that probably caused the issue. Still not sure, just wanted to make sure it wasn't some Russian dude trying to sell this account lmao

If you are suspecting that someone else may have access to your account you can check your account login history for the last 30 days.

If you see strange logins from other countries or locations far away from your own you should change your password, email and such.

there was a worskshop item that was using it (or more than one)

but it is a major tool for the pirated copies of games that need steam

Is there something special about the Spacewar AppID that bypasses normal protections, as opposed to some random F2P title?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
