Is there a free game I can try to test Steam Play on Linux?
I can't get Steam Play to work on my Ubuntu 19.04 system with any of the Windows games I've purchased. Can anyone recommend a free-to-download game that uses Steam Play that is known to work?

From what I'm reading, maybe Path of Exile?

Hello! I have used Linux in the past so this might help you!
If you want to see games that run stable or find fixes for your Windows games that you bought, you can personally go to ProtonDB for this advice or leave back feedback:

That page tells me that Twilight Struggle should work, with changes, but I don't understand what the changes are: https://www.protondb.com/app/406290

What does "Use Wine D3D" mean?
Means you are going to need to set a command line option: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

To be honest, you might be better off posting in the Steam for Linux discussions. There is a dedicated sub form for Steam Play there too.

Thanks, I figured it out. The solution is to copy user_settings.sample.py to user_settings.py in
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton 5.0 and then uncomment the PROTON_USE_WINED3D line.
