Paypal error
So i've been using paypal to buy steam games & top up my steam wallet for years. Used it quite frequently last week. Now all of a sudden it won't play ball. Giving me an error message

"An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact Steam Support."

Tried using a visa card which worked fine. Only problem, I can't use the market until i get the verify code in my bank statement.

Retried paypal countless times over the last few days. Still with the error message.

Has anybody encountered the same problem & may know what the deal is or how to resolve it ?

I remember having that issue a while ago, just wait a bit, there's nothing you can do to fix it, it's server-side ... or could be something wrong with your card data ? Maybe you got some new cards but didn't updated yet on PayPal ?

How long did it take to rectify for you ? I know it's nothing to do with my connected cards/accounts on paypal.

I tried only 24 hours after having this issue, so I can't be sure about that

Rather than making a purchase via the client, have you tried logging into a browser then making a purchase?

I had the same error since a couple of days but found a workaround.
On the screen where you select a payment methode it states "your paypal account"
change this to paypal, click pay, login to paypal et voila, no more technical issue.

Steam, fix this, people still have some money left they want to give to you!!!!

That was the first thing I tried after a few fails. It made no difference for me. Still waiting for a reply off steam support to see what light, if any they can shed on this dilemma.

I have 4 billion pound saved up ready for the winter steam sale. I will only spend via paypal though. Steam don't ya wan ma money !!!

I realise that. Already had a ticket out with them. Got a reply asking for more information before they can attempt to help. So back to waiting again.

Steam support has got back saying they have updated my account. All is working fine now. So I guess it was a steam problem after all, rather than the paypal end.
