Do the controllers work in non steam games?
Where can I find these drivers?
I wish I could try this but I don't have any non-Steam games. Is there a different way I could check for a PC response on the controller?
For using a wireless Xbox360 pad on PC you need this:

Honestly, as expensive as those are nowadays because they are no longer in production, you would be better buying a XboxOne pad for PC that costs 10 bucks more which has Bluetooth support and comes with a USB wireless receiver on top.

And as Ogami said, You need that receiver. I have that one and it works perfectly. I got it free from Microsoft as a reward, many years ago and still working great :)!
Edit: Don't buy that cable, it's expensive lol. Buy a new controller with the cable already included, make sure it says it's for PC.
It costs the same as just the cable on its own!
