Nintendo switch pro controller issues

Steam detects controller as nintendo switch pro controller and the controller works great until ingame.
Doesnt matter what i load up the left stick doesnt do anything but the right stick moves camera/view etc.

A button and B button do the same thing so cannot backout of menus.

Whats going on guys? Help appreciated.

Oh my system is running Manjaro linux
And problems are in linux compatible games and non linux games regardless

Have you tried changing controller settings in the game's properties?
E.g. to force off, force on... I remember having a similar issue in Rocket League and solving it like this.

Are you using USB or bluetooth?

From what I've read Switch pro controllers only work properly via bluetooth on Linux.
