Purchasing game that are equal to $5 USD doesn't help my account utilize all the features on steam
I've just received a digital gift card from my friend. Then i also purchased Dying Light which cost me 126.000 VND (Vietnam dong), equal more than 5 US dollars according to the current exchange rate.
After that, i attempted to use the feature: "Add As Friend". A pop up dialog appeared: "Your account does not meet the requirements to use this feature".
Can someone give me suggestions for this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Digital gift cards received don't count. Only adding funds yourself either by a purchased wallet card or via a bank card does.
Even if i spent the money gained from the gift card?

Was it your money? No. It was gifted money. That does not count.
If you charge your wallet and they buy stuff with it, the money doesn't count twice.

Correct. Your account has to spend its own cleared money.

Purchasing a Steam gift that is equal to $5 USD or more from the Steam store (Receiving a Steam gift or digital gift card from a friend doesn't count)
