Mic not recognized
For some reason, Steam won't recognize the mic I have plugged in. It's the only program on my computer that doesn't. Any suggestions? I'm on a Mac, and VersionTech G2000 headset with mic built-in. When I go to the Voice Input Device drop-down menu, it only gives me the option for "External Microphone (Built-in)" and I get nothing. Any ideas?

Restart Steam, check if it show up then, was this recently and issue that just appar, or always been the case with that headset?

No idea, just got the headset since I'm working from home now. I even went into Security and privacy on my Mac to allow Steam acces to my microphone, but Steam doesn't even show up there.

That might be your problem right there, as far as I know this all I know about Mac.

I saw that video, which led me to looking into Security and Privacy on my Mac, only to find that Steam doesn't show up in that list to allow it access to the microphone. There's not even a way to add it.

I did not. It would take more knowledge of computer code than I have to fix it. Apparently it's a common problem for Macs and Steam.
