Warning: hackers from Beijing trying to get into steam accounts!
Please everyone be sure you have steam guard and change your passwords. Chinese seem to be bored.
Got an email today that someone wanted to log in with my account. Be careful!

No one needs to change their passwords if they haven't given away their account details.

I'm not sure why you think this is as widespread as you make it out to be.

It's the same nonsense that circulates, and we're not stupid enough to lose our accounts.

Pretty much this.

As long as you're getting login attempts, someone definitely got your password by some means.

The OP is one that needs their own PSA's advice.

I haven't given out my account details.
There hasn't been breaches linked to my email.
Good that you lot are not stupid enough, you can ignore this.
I was just giving out info that someone tried it with mine, so just heads up.

If they tried to login, they know your accountname. Nobody except you should know that one.

Live, and learn from your mistakes, so you don't end up repeating it.

Most common reason people get accounts hijack for any service really are as followed.
- Sharing account infomation with others.
- Logging in on phishing sites.
- Downloading / Installing Virus / Keylogger on your system.
- Using public devices that has keyloggers, such as cyber cafe, school computers, and etc...
- Storing your login credentials on a unsecured service that others has access to view.
- Using same login credentials for all your things, or using same login credentials on another service that had a data leak. https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Yeah. Trying to bring everyone something nice, while somewhere else someone tries to rob you. Like... just stop doing that!
