Is the soundtrack tab in the steam library broken?
When I try to look at my game soundtracks through the desktop app my Steam can't find them but when I am ingame and open the steam overlay they show up...
Is there anything I can do to make them show up on the desktop library? I don't wanna start up a game just to listen to the soundtracks I own

Because (atleast to me) that doesn't make sense...
The library is not same as music list.

On your client, top left, click on View, now click on Music Details, and you see what I mean.

Here the example what I mean.
DLC - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1113510/
StandAlonve soundtrack - https://store.steampowered.com/app/436090/

Example games include but aren't limited to:
Sid Meyers Civilization 5
Sid Meyers Civilization 6
Thea The Awakening
Thea The Shattering
Europa Universalis 4
Crusader Kings 2
Stellaris
Age of Wonders 3
Total War Shogun 2
...

I am really at a loss about what I could change to find those files

The sound track on the library, you enable just like with software, videos, or tools if you want to see them, also if you have ready to play enable it will only show things you downloaded, so if the sound track are not downloaded then it will hide them as long the ready to play is enable.

I know how I can enable them... I am not that bad using a PC and they should be downloaded as well since they show up when I use the Steam Overlay while ingame
I checked the game files as well and the soundfiles for the soundtracks are in there

Just giving you heads up, not all games have their soundtrack separated from the game, or converted to the new soundtrack tab for the DLC.

As long the soundtrack is DLC, and not a stand alone soundtrack, I suggest check out half life 2 and you see what I mean.

Now if you're talking about viewing the music player details, to the top of the client click view, then click music player details.

But I had the soundtrack files for those games + the additional soundtracks you could buy in the library and they showed up.
Now they just show up when I open up the Steam Overlay in a game but not for the Steam Desktop version

You have the soundtracks yes, but the devs have not converted them to soundtracks. They're still functionally DLC.

This is something the devs must do for them to show up in the soundtrack section.

There two soundtrack, most did not convert their soundtracks to standalone.

You have your standard Soundtrack dlc, which in order to download you have to download the game, and in order to buy it you need the base game.

Then there the standalone soundtrack, you can download the soundtrack by itself without needing the game, and you don't need the base game to buy the soundtrack as it's stand alone, this is something the devs need to opt into on their own.

So the soundtrack-DLCs for those games wont show up in my normal library? [if I understood both of you correctly?]
And its not my fault but the Dev's "fault" for not converting it to a standalone [if I understood both of you correctly?]
But why do the soundtracks show up in my Steam-Overlay when ingame and not in the library of the desktop version? Does the steam overlay recognize the dlc whilst the library doesn't or what is happening?

Yes. It's their choice if they want to do this, or not, but Steam giving them this option.

You're looking at the Music player, not the library. Can't view your library in the overlay.
