It might be your cord or the connector in your controller. By the way, you don't need DS4Windows as Steam has that kind of functionality for the controller built in.

I like DS4 Windows... I seem to have issues with big picture mode. I like custom rumble and it actually works. If I just play Rocket League plugged in no DS4 Windows I get 0 rumble despite it being in big picture mode turned on and on in the game...

Issue MIGHT have been the fact it's showing my controller as an audio device too so I have disabled that in sound options. Maybe that was causing some interference.. but my bet is on the design of the cable/port being crap as it's not meant to be played plugged in.

I do have a newer cord from actually buying a PS4. This was just a sole controller purchase from almost 3 years ago. I guess I could but I don't have much hope.

If it has the same issue, you might want to look at the USB port on your controller to see if it's banged up. I don't have much experience with DS4 controllers, but I do have a generic DS3 controller where the USB port is a bit out of shape.

Also this PC was just built in January so I do think it's the controller in some way, whether it's the port on the controller or the cable itself.

It's not something you should rule out. I had two rock candy Xbox 360 controllers in the past. Both lasted about two weeks. I've also used my wireless Steam controller as a wired one and had an issue with a longer generic cord I was using, which is why I'm considering both as a possibility.
