steam store search parameters

i like to stay on topic so i can filter from certain things when i am looking to see what the store has when i use the drop down menu and put it to release dates it loves to add other topics into the mix and it throws me whole on topic idea right out the window is there a way to get the search to do what i want for what ever additions or exclusions i set up?
