How to unlink rockstar social club account from Steam?
Hi guys, my brother created a new RSC account when I first got the game without consulting me, I have another RSC account with a high level account. Tried linking it but it wont work, it keeps going to the one my bro created. How can I unlink this lvl 1 gta account and add my account with experience?

Is there a reason you're blaming Steam? They just allow the link and have nothing to do with setting it up. Complain to Rockstar - it's their system that requires you to mail them.

I tried to do a similar thing: Unlinking an old Steam account from the Social Club account and then relinking a new Steam account. However, I received a following reply from Rockstar Support:

Hello BreenCell,

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

The entitlements to play GTAV are tied to both the Social Club and Steam accounts. These accounts must remain linked or you will not be able to play GTAV or GTA Online with either of these accounts.

If we were to unlink your Steam account from your Social Club account, you will not be able to play GTA Online as well as GTAV with your Social Club account, even if another Steam account is linked to it afterwards.

However, if you would still like to proceed with the Steam unlink, please get back to us with the following information..."

Ask Rockstar - this has nothing to do with Steam.

I thought mine was taking long and mines been a few days.. I’ve followed up with rockstar and they’ve responded saying the concerned support team have received my request and will complete it as soon as possible..

You’re also able to relink your steam to a new account if you are only wanting to play rdr2 as it will ask you to link when you relaunch the game, however gta will become unplayable even if you were to relink to another rockstar or rebuy the game.

Why? Mine worked fine. After submitting the unlink request to rockstar they finally unlinked it, I created a new R* account and successfully linked it back to my original steam account. Never had any issues playing GTA on it. The two operate independently from one another, and R* doesn't ban steam accounts... Only RSC accounts. You just can't keep signing into the rockstar launcher with the old RSC account name, as that won't allow you to connect to their servers.

So you had no issues playing GTA Online once you linked a new steam account to rockstar for red dead 2? i got informed by the agent helping me that gta would be unplayable if i was to switch to a different linked steam. Will need to give it a try
