Steam Wallet Card Not Working
I bought a Steam Wallet card at Target today. I typed in the code, made sure I was right multiple times (I was unsure about a certain character being Z or 2, so I tried both in every possible variation), and it wouldn't work, regardless of capitalization or whether or not there were hyphens (I tried everything), but every time, I would get an error saying that the code is invalid. What is going on?

UPDATE: On the back of the receipt it said to wait three hours. I did, and while I waited, I typed the code in, just to see if it got activated. It has now been 12 hours and the code still doesn't work. Yes, I have made sure that all the characters are correct.

I feel like this whole "Gift cards cannot be returned" thing is not so great. There should be a way the cashiers or customer service can see if the code is still redeemable, and exchange it or give us our money back.
My receipt doesn't even have an activation code on there I'm pretty sure.
What makes it even more stupid is not only did they scam us but the refund policy - by law, gift cards are regarded as currency. Why can't we refund them?

Cards are regarded as expendable once they are processed which leaves the entire responsibility up to the customer once they're acquired.

A month with Steam Support? No, it will take them at least a couple of days from previous tickets when I had concerns..

not even, generally issues are resolvied between 3 hours and 16 hours. Business days, of course.. On weekends you have to wait until week days usually.

Oh, good, they are better now.
I recall back when I was new to steam, my friend needed help with a game key that didn't work and he was waiting for at least 2 months for them to get back to him.
They were never that bad. People exaggerate... Your friend probably didn't give them all the information they requested, and had multiple back and forths.

the upper response time is very accurate, you'll very seldomly wait outside that limit. any of my issues are generally resolved within 6 hours on a business day, regardless of what it is... though most of my support requests are via https://help.steampowered.com/en/accountdata bottom issue.

Only if you can convince them that they are violating consumer rights due to a faulty product and that you'll escalate the issue with the trading ombudsman.

Most countries would consist of one anyway. Just make sure you converse on their level and try not to puff up.

Well, it looks like Steam is willing to help me with the codes as long as I have proof of purchase and the physical cards in a photo. I just need to find a copier...

Do you not have a phone that can take a picture?

Why do you need a copier?
