Linux gaming freezes/hitchings (new to Linux)

Welp, I seem to have a problem with the games in my library.

Don't Starve Together: distorted sounds
Half Life: hitchings, and when I move the mouse very fast the game gets this laggish feel even though my fps says it staying at a constant 60fps
Fistful of Frags: same as Half Life
Penumbra Overture: freezes when a sound effect plays that has not been heard before.

Is there something i have to install/tweak to fix these issues?

What Os is your linux?

I use Ubuntu and its running fine sometimes. Were you using Wine/PlayOnLinux?

No, the games that I said I have a problem with do have a Linux port, wasn't using Wine. The Linux distro I have is Opensuse Leap 42.2.
