Couldn't switch to required monitor resolution on Windows 7

every time i try to start broforce, it never launches, and this error messegas appears,


Switching to resolution 1280x960 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: DX11 could not switch resolution (1280x1024 fs=0 hz=0)

what do i do? i am using windows 7 professional and an intel graphics card, nowhere i can find the solution to this, and this happens in other games too

Are you sure that Intel videochip has its drivers installed and does support the necessary instructions to run the game?

Rightclick desktop>screen resolution>use recommended.
The display aspect is directly related to your GPU and drivers version.
You cannot switch drivers if the drivers donot support.
Running the graphics on the Intel onboard intel HD graphics may be the problem.

In the game recommendations
Graphics: OpenGL 3.0 compliant video card<<


Could you contact Intel or use the Intel tool on your computer to scan for driver updates.

Open your run>type in dxdiag press enter
Take a look at the display tab any problems.

AFAIK some games require a dedicated GPU. This is not one as it does not list that in the recommendations, since you say it happens to others games.
