Is ENB Injector safe to use in singleplayer games?
I wanted to improve my graphics in Half-Life 2: Update. I found this post-processing software called Reshade. I installed it to Half-Life 2: Update, but it wasn't launching so I read their FAQ and it says that I need to use an injector such as ENB Injector. I went to the ENB Injector download page. And the description says that it's a tool to walkaround problems for software that prohibit the use of d3d9.dll. And Steam prohibits the use of d3d9.dll. But I'm not sure if it's okay to bypass Steam not letting me use d3d9.dll. I want to know if I might get banned for bypassing it or not. I would really like to improve my graphics but I don't want to get banned for something like that. I know you can get VAC banned if you forget to turn ENB Injector off when joining a VAC server. But I just want to use it for singleplayer games. And just in case I do forget to turn off ENB Injector, I wan't to know a way to make it turn off when the game shuts down.

Of course you can do whatever you want in singleplayer games. Things that dont connect to a server aren't going to hurt you

Just a warning however.

Sometimes "single player" is running a multiplayer server, and having bots. If that's the case, you WILL be VAC banned if you have mods installed.

For Source games, launch the game with the command line parameter -insecure. This will essentially "VAC ban" you while you launch the game in this mode (it won't let you connect to secure servers, but VAC will not run at all). Using this command line option is the safest way to use mods like that to prevent you from "accidentially" connecting to a multiplayer server.

Thanks for the information! I didn't know that there was an -insecure option. That might be useful for me.
