Steam Installed Twice

I've had steam installed twice for multiple years not knowing what to do. I've got steam installed both under Program Files (x86) and just Games, when I restart my PC a random one of the 2 will pop up. What should I do/which one should I delete?

Check if the 2nd Steam install is listed under Programs in the control panel, you can remove it there.

Otherwise just remove the one in Games and disable/remove it from the startup applications in the Task Manager.

And are you very sure you have Steam installed twice? And that you are not looking at a save games folder or something.
