Steam Workshop not installing or downloading.
For the past few days the Steam Workshop has not installed any mods.

I have subscribed to a few and it will instantly say that the mod is downloaded in the Downloads menu but will not appear in game.
For example in Europa Universalis 4 all of my newly subscribed mods which steam said it downloaded have not appeared.

I have tried unsubbing, clearing my download cache, exiting steam, deleting appcache folder, restarting steam, resubscribing. None of these work.

Thanks in advance.

just restarted steam again and the client removed all of my games from their categories.
I only had 2 in my favorites and one in my "Currently Playing" category when originally there were many.

It also started installing Steamworks Common Redistributibles https://puu.sh/DbXOV/f08dc0796d.png

No changes i can see that the redistributables work. I'm going to restart steam once more.
Before I do I am going to unsubscribe from some mods that haven't installed and delete ones that are installed as well as their files in the mods folder and workshop folders. We'll see how it goes.

so first thing to note is that Day of Infamy and HoI4 say they are completed but have clearly downloaded nothing

and second, EU4 even as I type this has downloaded nothing, it's sitting at 0 bytes a second and I have very fast internet which gets up to 11 MB/s at times. I have no game updates going on, just the workshop is downloading.

Alright I buckled down and reinstalled the games affected.

Still is not working. Some mods updated which weren't previously but new mods still will not install.

do you think storage space is an issue? It could be a reason why steam isn't downloading your mods
Samodov Apr 9, 2019 @ 3:04am
definitely not. I have terabytes of space left.
Suvierno Apr 9, 2019 @ 3:55am
are you using a beta version?
Samodov Apr 9, 2019 @ 5:37am
I am using Stable version. I will try beta and update this post.

UPDATE: Beta version of Steam does not fix it. Neither dose switching back to stable.

I'm having this exact some problem. I'm at a complete loss too. It seems like the eu4 mods and other Paradox games are just kinda messed up on the steam workshop.

THE ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED

Thank you very much to Steam Support for helping me through this.
Here I will paste the instructions they gave me that fixed the issue:

If you already have these enabled, un-check then check them again to fix any bugs.
- In the Steam Client, select "Steam" in the top-left, then "Settings"
- Select "Cloud", then check-mark "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization", then press "OK"
- Navigate to the Steam Library
- Right-click "Europa Universalis IV" > "Properties" > "Updates"
- Check-mark "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Europa Universalis IV"
- Re-test the issue and see if you can download and use the Workshop mods

If the issue continues, please do the following:
- Exit the Steam Client completely
- Go to (default location):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\106445130\
- Rename the "ugc" folder to "ugc.old"
- Go to:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\
- Rename the "mod" folder to "mod.old"
- Launch the Steam Client and see if you can download and use the Workshop mods

The second half of these instructions is what fixed it HOWEVER I had to unsubscribe from all of my mods before I closed the client and renamed the ugc and mod folders.

Thank you again, steam support!

I've tried everything in this thread and nothing. My game is Crusader Kings 2, and it is impossible to download any workshop mod... any help?

Do you have a mac version of the bottom half of instructions? I am having the same problem
Samodov Jun 9, 2020 @ 5:44pm
Sadly no as I am on Windows and do not own a Mac.
I would suggest that you contact Steam Support like I did, be patient with them and they'll most likely have the solution for you. :selphinehappy:
