Where this game?

A. Steam Library > View game details > Select game click on CD key if you're given one, if not then there's no game key.

B. Game case, open the game box, look around, maybe on CD case, maybe the label in the case, or in the book.

But i'm asking you, did you purchase it directly from Steam or did you pay for a physical boxed copy?

What game is it? If it's from Ubisoft, then they don't hand out CD keys anymore. You'll have to download and install their latest client.

Then buy the game as a gift. Steam doesn't sell CD keys so the only option is to gift it directly to your friend.
