You cannot even buy a laptop for that little that will function, let alone run Skyrim on that level of graphics.

Save your money, look at the Hardware tips section for help on how to get a proper desktop rig on a budget, but no laptop's gonna run it well, let alone for that kind of price.

I ran Skyrim on my old windows 7 x32 bit Prof. nvidea GT 160.
Amd Athlon processor dual core 3.GHz
8 gig of ram.
I still have that pc connected to my new system via a switch.
I bought the Disc version and registered it to Steam as per instructions on the back. Its still there in Steam.
Amd Athlon was a fast processor much better than the Intel now that I own one.
Skyrim ran fine on that old one no crashes.
The newer Skyrim Special Edition I also have with Skyrim Elder Scrolls and it doesn't look that different from the original game.
If you have the old version please backup your saves and screenshots since installing the Special edition will over ride the screenshots folder. Luckily I made a back of it.

so pretty much if i get a computer like say this one
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Elitebook-8470p-14-Notebook-i5-3320M-2-6GHz-8GB-320GB-ATI-7570m-Windows-10/392121992265?hash=item5b4c4ac449:g:gB8AAOSwq9ZblygR:sc:FedExHomeDelivery!64801!US!-1:rk:36:pf:0&LH_All=1
then you are saying i can run it? i dont want top play in 1080p with max graphics and stuff med graphics are fine with me, and some light to medium modding, ones that dont really take too much just game enhancement and item add ins.

if you want to play skyrim on a pc worth ~100 dollars, it could be better to play the 2011 version

It would run however the 2.6 GHz is tad low.
I modded Skyrim a lot lol. Awesome game.
Also the HDD is small.
Does it come with an OS installed?
Whats the warranty on it.

I prefer desktop as Laptops suffer hear problems and have seen many burn the gpu.
The battery life is poor so you'd always need to have it on AC.
Look for a refurbished desktop.
I bought a refurbished laptop from Ebay for travel and loading my holiday video / pictures staying in touch it lasted many years. No games.
Which country are you in?

im in the US and all but this laptop looks decent enough, from what i find it is possible to run it and i can overclock the CPU to run at 3.1-3.7 (once i figure out how to do that), and i dont see where you find it has battery problems but i can deal with always having it on an AC adapter as i do that anyways, and i keep my laptops well ventilated so as to keep it from overheating.

Just add mods to it. There isnt that much difference between them
The main one difference that Bethesda was trying to sell is that SE is on a 64-bit engine instead on 32-bit. The frames wont drop as much and its "supposed" to have more mod stability.

My old system is a x32 bit amd
New system x64 intel i5 3.4 GHz.
16 gig ram
gpu 1060 with 2 gig onboard

i did, but a few of the mods i want or had require the DLC, and the DLC together are more than SE itsself, so that mixed with the laptop im after isnt going to work its way over my price rang. im just making the decision to buy the laptop i found and overclock it, that way i have the CPU reqs, RAM reqs and graphics reqs
The Rock God Feb 21, 2019 @ 8:06pm
That laptop you linked is nowhere near the minimum requirements for SSE. The CPU in it is passable, but the 7570m is way under the minimum. I own a laptop that's over 10 years old with more powerful graphics.

oh then please almighty gods of steam (said sarcastically) link me a laptop that i can run thats within my price rang

You can keep an eye on this to see if it drops anywhere, but that price might be as low as it gets from now on.
The Rock God Feb 21, 2019 @ 8:21pm
Absent a miracle, you aren't going to find something for $100-150 that will run SSE. More realistic would be at least $300, if not $400, for a used laptop.
Zekiran Feb 21, 2019 @ 8:57pm
None.

We're not linking you to things because *they don't exist* at that price. Period.

And as Rock God suggests, twice that for a USED marginally-workable laptop is pretty straight up standard and realistic. Just because we're not telling you "oh yes of course that price range for a functional laptop can run a reasonably new re-release of a game that requires higher end computing processes" doesn't mean we're not "productive".

We're telling you: save up, price out some good parts, and make a proper gaming rig if you want to run proper games. Most laptops are garbage anyway, for gaming, and just because one person can run a game, means nothing toward any other game or any other rig.
