‘‘Steam Fatal Error - Failed to load steamui.dll’’ problem, help!
Hi, i am new here,

So today i woke up and launched Team Fortress 2, and then that error came up.

I have not changed anything on my PC. Disabled my anti-virus and re-installed it. Did the -tcp -clientbeta client_candidate, still no fix. Steam support has not answered my help question. Please help :(

Edit: When i also used the ‘‘-tcp -clientbeta client_candidate’’, it was just stuck in an infinite update loop

I also use Windows XP Professional - Version 2002 SP3

Another edit: when i first encountered this, the client beta thing worked for me

Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported as of the 1st of January, 2019.

You will have to consider upgrading to a newer operating system like Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, or purchasing a newer, more powerful PC as a whole; preferably a budget gaming PC.

Thanks for your answer.

I would like to let you know that the client beta thing on shortcuts fixed it for me when i first encountered it.

Is there any way like i can get older versions of Steam then?

Have this issue too. Since yesterday. WinXP SP3.

I got this problem too on my windows vista. In note where they say that they are not going to support windows vista and windows XP they say that "For the reminder of 2018 Steam will continue to run and to launch games at windows vista and Windows XP" so i dont know if it's becouse of my computer.
Upgrade your windows people.
At least get 7 or something. 10 would be good but holy ♥♥♥ is windows 10 annoying.

There is an old steam version on Reddit. Search for "archived steam for Windows XP and Vista" on Google and you should be Gucci. It can download games but friends ui, the overlay and the store don't work. So to download games you'll need to use the web browser.

MY GOD. THANK YOU!

Np man I understand the frustration it caused, my newest computer broke on me and I don't have the money to fix it atm so I'm using my old vista machine so I feel the pain.

How does Steam allow users with Windows XP software to be downloaded and to be installed and to fail when attempting to launch ?

I had no steam games purchased not until about one year and months ago, and since Counter Strike meets the requierments to launch I installed Steam and now I am getting the same problem these guys have, " Failed to launch steamui.dll...

I had a computer with Windows 10, a legal non pirated copy and ran steam and its games with no problem at all, now I would like to ask did they announce the closure of support for Steam app to operating systems below Windows 7 ?
