Xbox One controller issues over both Bluetooth and Wired.
I am able to use my Xbox one controller over bluetooth most times. However, sometimes it connects, steam sees the controller and everything, as does windows but it wont work in games. It used to do this and after resetting my pc and reconnecting the controller it usually fixes this but today I cant seem to get it to work. I have generic gamepad and xbox checked in the controller settings. Drivers and all are up to date. Ive spent over an hour trying to get it to work and I still haven't gotten it. Any help would be great!

The controller works on Origin for Madden 19, it will not work for any steam games however. Windows and other games recognize the controller, for some reason, it will not work with steam

Yes, but not "just". You also need to replug the gamepad afterwards.

Unchecking the boxes and reconnecting the controller worked! Thank you for your help! Only if steam could make a controller friendly controller settings lol

Well, the default settings make sense for DirectInput gamepads (Valve call them "generic") and PlayStation gamepads. There, Valve's default settings are friendly all right. Not for XInput gamepads though.
