"duplicate key" from HRK, lack of suppor
Dear all
Few weeks ago I bought a cheap key from HRK. It turned out that the key was a duplicate, I opened a ticket with HRK and they asked me to "...contact Steam support in order to determine when exactly the key has been redeemed (date + time) and provide us with a screenshot presenting the exchange. Key has to be mentioned in the exchange. Please note that the screenshots must be in English. Otherwise, we will not be able to help you". Now, it turns out that Steam does not give a damn about third party keys (legitimately considering that's now a key they sold) and I cannot find a way to directly contact Steam support (like, opening a ticket). Despite I wrote to HRK multiple times that there's nothing to do with Steam, they keep on copying+pasting the same identical answer "contact Steam". Anyone who can give me a tip on how to try to solve this issue? Thank you all. PS: despite having had excellent experiences with HRK, this specific issue leads me to advice against using hrk to purchase Steam keys. Personally I will never buy from them anymore.

Typical tactic used by scam sites to distract their victims towards someone else. Valve never hands out this sort of information, and they sold a used/invalid key not only as an accident but knowingly, and propably to more people than only you.

If you can get your money back through some chargeback mechanism by your bank, take this chance. Otherwise accept, that you paid a scammer. You might try legal action, but chances are low.

Now, would you please remove this link? Informative and warning or not, there are users, who will click anything and who you will point towards this site this way.

It's not their stock so there isn't anything they can do. Scam sites often fob users off like this. If you can do a chargeback or get them to refund you, that's the only way.

I also vote for a chargeback. If vendor delivers faulty goods amd their reaction isnt "Were sorry for trying to screw you over, heres the stuff you paid for/your money back", then a chargeback is very much in order.

1) Steam did not sell a key at all and they make no money from key activaitions

2) Steam have no responsibility or ability to fix an issue caused by you going to some random stranger on the internet and giving them your money because they told you they would give you a working code

2) HRK were just knowingly scamming you and making excuses to stall you to try and make you either give up and go away or waste so much time it would be too late for you to issue a chargeback that would get you your money back, cost them a fee and get them closer to being blacklisted by your payment provider.
