Steam game icons all blank

All the steam game icons are blank. I tried to browse them to their source but then all the icons turned into same game icon and starts the same game. Tried verifying and everything. Please help

I have the have the same problem. Desktop icons mysteriously broke about 6 weeks ago. They now appear as steam logos with the extension .url and are no longer normal shortcuts.

I may have fixed in. Go to the properties of the shortcut, and change the app that runs it to 'Internet Browser'. I did this, and it worked for me.

but sadly if u wanna browse the game location u can't,
setting it to browser only fixes the blank icons issue,but it's not a real fix.
still better than the stupid blank ones.
