NEW STEAM (where function for disable notification?!)

I don't can find section in setting for disable notification
I get a sound warning every second that someone from friends has come into the game or just appeared on the network, it's horrible!

Steam > Settings > Friends > Uncheck all of the boxes that show when a friend joins a game.

That does only work with the old UI, with the new chat UI you have a gear symbol at the right from your name when opening the chat. That now contains all the chat notification settings and everything related to it.

Hi, there are no gear symbols in my chat window.
I went to this person's profile then clicked "send a message", is this what you meant by "opening the chat"?

That is the chat window. You need to look at the friends list window.

Found it, thank you (without you I would have never found it. Not in a million years I would have looked at small letters at the bottom of the client window).
