Can I have some privacy with certain games on Steam?
Please forgive my broken english.

So, my problem is:

I want to buy and play an "adult sensitive" game, and it is right on steam. But I don't want my friends to know I play that game. And I don't even want them to notice I buy that game. Because usually when you buy something your friends will notice it on "activity" page.

Can I have some kind of privacy with certain games?

You're going to have to hide all of them. As it stands, you can't choose which games to hide from people, it's all or nothing.

Or you can create a specific account just for that kind of game, and not add friends to it. You can create as many steam accounts as you like. You just aren't allowed to have multiple people on the SAME account. So... just create a new one, make a careful note about its info so you don't forget, and use it for that.

Just own up to the stuff you play. Who cares? If i want to play some adult game on Steam i just do it, i dont care what others think. Its their problem not mine if they have a issue with what i play.

Isn't it possible to bury your activity feed with other games though?

As long as you have your game details set to private when you buy the game, it won't show up in your activity feed.

Nope. Hide them all or none.

If you really want adult sensitive games create an other Steam account specifically for them. don't add any friends or hide all games on that account if you decide to add friends

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. Really helpful.

Created a 2nd account for this, wanted to delete the shortcut, clicked too lightly so it did a super duper ultra double ninja over-click of doom and now it's displayed in my profile... T-T

My father and little sister are my friends in steam. More privacy options could surely be welcomed!

I agree.

More privacy options would be better than fewer.

I myself was going down the rabbit hole & something caught my eye that even Steam was like 'This...This does not look like games you actually play good sir.."

& being the blok I am I thought "These guys are creative, I'll buy this & see where it goes."

Haven't installed or played the game as its early access & I really have far too many games ahead of it 'in cue' ... But when games show up I am playing or other friends are playing on my feed I occasionally think to myself

"You ever boot into that game? You might-wanna have your laugh-&-explanation...Or at least your American eagle ready to respond to at least a couple people mate."

Always stay who you are. (Unless you're an A**..Then just "Stop it. Stop it NOW~!" -Arnold )

...But don't be ignorant to the fact you must also be prepared to defend that stance in the face of both friends & family.
