1. There needs to be an application (service) listening on that port, accepting the incoming packets, and only after that a port checker can see if a port is open.
Use this piece of tool to listen to that port on your computer: http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/utility/portlistener/download.shtml
2. most of the online port checkers only check for TCP port, whereas Steam uses UDP 27015.
3. disable your DMZ, you're exposing your machine literally to the whole Internet. Steam's VoIP or any other VoIP "shouldn't" require a DMZ to work.
4. which country do you live in and have you tried connecting to the Steam VoIP through a VPN? it worked for most of us.
5. Valve should do something like Discord did in terms of connections. unlike Steam, Discord uses a range of ports rather than a specific one so this way if for example a port is closed then it will try a different one.
So it's some problem between my ISP and Valve.
OpenVPN, and it sounds like too much work[superuser.com] for normal users.
Just tested, it works, and you're using your own wifi, patch until you can get a new router.
I don't understand why forwarding ports doesn't work yet...
I can't understand a thing with all these spelling and grammar mistakes.
Left "Public" unticked, and only that one, check "Public" and "Domain"
wut!
Someone tries to help you, and you attack him, nice work.
I'm unsubscribing, won't help any longer, it works for me.
No my problem if you can't write English text correctly and confusing me. bye
next time learn the difference between "attack" and "asking a question".
Man you do realize you are being salty right. But It is quite ironic though.
so next time when i don't understand something what am i supposed to do exactly? lol
I use PUREVPN. https://www.purevpn.com
Guys, I managed to use the voice chat with VPN (PureVPN - https://www.purevpn.com) just for the steam, i.e., the rest of my applications, including games, is outside the VPN.
Purevpn has an option called split tunneling, which allows you to use VPN only for selected applications (in this case only for steam).
So, voice chat is using VPN and working and the rest of the computer is outside the VPN and does not suffer from lag.
