This time i cannot connect at all. :/
Yea, I use Avast, and even with it disabled or not started still have the connection problem. I don't think it's skype as I uninstalled it from my machine awhile ago. Someone earlier in the thread said they did a safe mode boot and were still having problems. So if you're one of the few people who's tried pretty much everything we've all mentioned chances are you're having the same trouble as some of us here are.
I tried with a laptop in the same network and voice chat works fine, so it's not a router or internet provider issue here.
I find it hard to believe that my router or windows defender is the problem when Steam was the only one of those things that had an update.
I hope they figure out whats going on and release a patch soon.
Windows permissions all fine, the wbrtc is fine, and steam in game mic setting works just fine.
Just the "connecting..." and never connects.
Not yet. I was talking with someone I know about it and they said it sounded like a security problem on Valve's end of things. Meaning they're the one's rejecting the connection and likely doesn't have anything to do with us the users. Looking at other threads on the same topic, a couple people said that valve is aware of the issue and is working on it. So it looks like we're stuck until Valve figures out a fix.
Steam is using webrtc for its voice chat, which has a troubleshooter here https://test.webrtc.org/
When I have my routers firewall enabled it blocks the reflexive connectivity to webrtc. I have also read that if your router is using symmetric NAT then it will block webrtc, but I haven't tried changing it.
When you look at the logs it looks like something is wrong with ICE not being able to connect...
(VoiceChat) ICE state is not connected after successful SetRemoteDescription, waiting for UDP connetivity
then times itself out after a minute.
