Mic works in discord but doesn't work in games

My mic has been working completely fine in discord and in games until about a week ago it stopped working in games but it still works in discord. I reinstalled my audio drivers which didn't fix it I also looked at my steam voice settings and nothing seems to fix my problem. If anyone has anything that can help me with my issue it would be greatly appreciated!

In-game is in-game, not related to Steam settings for the client itself as the client settings for the friends/group chat boxes, just like discord isn't part of your in-game settings.

Whatever in-game issues you're having, you need to look up the in-game settings, and may need to manually select your mic instead of default to use your mic, and test.

Now if you were talking about Steam friend chat, and not about the game at all, as this is not part of the game, then open friends list, click on the cog / gear icon, click voice and ensure you selected your mic manually, and test.
