What happened to Valve's steam game client program as a download for all the Major Desktop Operating Systems
Seriously what happened to Valve's steam game client program as a download for all the Major Desktop Operating Systems because I went to download the Steam game client program for my new Windows 10 Installation to a guid partition table to support one big partition over 2 TB for my new 3 TB mechanical hard drive that I just got for about $50 considering it was all that I could afford for more internal storage despite that Solid State is becoming more mainstream with capacities of 1 TB SSD's now being around $100, 2 TB SSD's now being around $200, and 4TB SSD's now being around $600 to $1500 except using 4 TB SSD's as example is almost a bad idea considering a 4 TB SSD will could still cost up to $1500 despite if $600 is plenty attainable for an SSD though. Except that If I could afford even a 4 TB SSD I would get it for my Laptop first or use it for my NAS as a USM before I used an SSD for a desktop or server considering the price and that I would need the ruggedness of an SSD for a Laptop or USM before I would need the speed and ruggedness of an SSD for a Server or Desktop or Workstation. Considering the Storage capacity of an SSD is only about a quarter of the most you can get for a more affordable mechanical Hard drive with a maximum capacity of 16 TB at around $400 to $600 versus $600 to $1500 just for a single 4 TB SSD. Don't even get me started on ability to afford an 8 TB SSD as it usually is about around $3000 for a single 8 TB SSD and they are usually for enterprise NAS. Also, I already have a 16 TB Small Business NAS that I used to recover surveillance footage of someone breaking into my friends car using R-Studio, even though the RAID volume was in RAID 5 and I only attained about 12 TB of useable space except considering I paid about $1000 for it in 2013 and it has a USM port unlike most factory preassembled NAS's it was a good deal at the time for what it already included and considering how easy it can be to use compared to a custom NAS or maybe it's not considering if I could meet the specs of what I have planned for a custom NAS at the same power levels or at 300 watts or below if I can't meet the 90 watts or so that the one that I have that is factory made as well as get FreeNAS or NAS4Free install and working as easily on it then I would have found a better way. Enough about the Hard drives, SSD's, and NAS's. What the heck happened to Valve's steam video game and other program client for online and offline use of programs like in the past and now what the heck am I supposed to do if I can't get on the internet considering now I see that I am pretty much forced to log into their website to download new game or previously owned games or programs including benchmark programs for my computers and now I pretty much guessing that I can't use anything for gaming or programs that use steam for offline use anymore and that I am completely tied to the internet in order to use all the crap associated with this internet only access and use now, which yea great I guess that they cracked down on piracy and especially hacking of other peoples account's as well as valve's steam store to prevent theft of game and program purchase that I guess was hurting the video game as well as computer industry severely except now I have to be able to get on the internet and I hate it because I know from reading Evi Nemeth and others book on Linux system administration that even Linux is not secure and no computer is actually secure when connected to the Internet or Network and that it's going to take a lot more than that to keep other people from violating other peoples owner ship of games and valve's owner ship of it products as well as other company's ability to ability to protect themselves to from hackers, but on a positive note this seems like a more secure way to protect users and the company's that make or distribute them as well as valve that pretty much pioneered the idea of a video game client program to make Computer video gaming easier and to prevent piracy. I did find a link to valve's steam video game and program client as follows, but it was from a websearch with a search engine and when I tried to duplicate finding it through valve's website I could find the same result and that leads me to believe that this link is not to be trusted here: https://store.steampowered.com/about

Try paragraphs. Reading a wall of text is horrible...

And punctuation.

I’m not even sure what your question is. Was there a point to this post?

I stopped reading, it's unbearable.

Good to hear I'm not the only one who's confused by OP.

Ach! Try being succinct. I tried scanning through it but all I got was eye strain and a headache...

Paragraphs are your friend. tried reading it, but its a mess, try again with a more consise description of what your trying to say.
Right, so I've garnered quite a few points (as well as having answered a few questions, most off-topic) with this non-paragraphed post (which is suffice to say, a wall of text):
  1. ...what does NAS/CCTV systems and server administration have in correlation with the Steam client?
  2. Mechanical hard drives are currently being slowly phased out by SSDs atm, so I'd rather have an SSD over that.
  3. No, you only need to log into the client in order to harness the full abilities provided with Steam. The page you linked at the very end is a legitimate one owned by Valve Software. It's the place where you need to download the installer in order to use the Steam client (which is where you download or play games).
  4. Piracy was always an issue for Valve ever since their flagship game Half-Life went on sale back in November 1998. It's up to the devs themselves if they want to implement anti-piracy methods or not.
  5. Remember that older operating systems will sooner or later be out of support, such as Windows 8.1, which ends on January 10, 2023 (about less than three years as of writing). Valve usually follows suit by warning users to cease use of that version after its end-of-life period.

At the top of every store and steamcommunity page of Steam's is a "Install Steam" link that takes you to the link at the end of your postings. No need to use a web search for it. The link for the page is even on the linked page.
