Exploring the wilderness?

What does that mean? my friend is listed as "exploring the wilderness" ... I have never seen that and google knows nothing about it. It's not a game on steam, is that a new thing you can set your account to show like offline etc?

My friend has the same 'exploring the wilderness'. Above his name it says he's playing Rust. I guess it's just a description of what he's doing in the game.

Sounds like a game status just like what Silent Mike said in the above post. While you can make a custom status using a non-Steam program, some games display the in-game status of what your friends are doing in the game that they are currently playing. For instance, "Hoarding Money" or "Plotting the assassination of the Bishop" and so forth. Some of these status updates are pretty funny, truth be told. ^^"

For those who are looking for the answer to this question, go to

Main Menu->Options->Options->Set "Rich Presence" to off.

You may need to restart the game.
