What happened to gta4?

GTA4 is my favorite GTA of all time my PS3 broke so I'm no longer able to play And for some reason it's the only GTA not on PS for I went to go buy it on steam as I have had it on my wishlist forever It's normally there I could just never bring myself to pay the full price for it but now it's gone And I want it more than ever But I am over 20 and my age is set appropriately in my steam profile so I should be able to buy it regardless they just said it's not Bailable

A Google search learns that apparently Rockstar can't generate keys for it anymore due to the Games for Live thingy: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-01-13-gta-iv-no-longer-purchaseable-on-steam-because-rockstar-can-no-longer-generate-keys

Starting 03/19/2020, Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition will replace both Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City wherever it is currently digitally available. Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition will as also be available via the Rockstar Games Launcher.



Don't tell the poor kid it's removed entirely.


So yeah, go download Rockstar's Game Launch and wait about 2 weeks.

complete edition still has gta 4, exact same thing.
all he wants is the game on PC which complete edition will give you. on march 19th.

I went straight to GTAV on the RS launcher. Got another GTA game free on RS but forgot which. Downloaded 1 for free on their site too.

"please check back for updates" doesn't really mean temporary, I mean... That's what we got with GTA 2 and it never went on sale again :'), and then that text was removed. and now I'm one of the few people on le steam with Grand Theft Auto 2, the absolute arcade masterpiece.

The article has a Rockstar spokesperson mentioning that they're looking at other distribution options. So, temporary.

GTA2 is a free download. Everybody can get it.

I bought it like 2 or more years ago, on sale, along with san andreas and vice city. I decided to install it yesterday and I just can't get a key to run it. WTF is that? Is it something that might happen to the whole library, some time in the future? Is 19/3 the date that it will be available again?
