Steam downloading on desktop
I deleted steam last night on one of my drives and then I copy and pasted in a file because it was in another file where I didn't want it and now it's causing everything on steam to download on my desktop https://imgur.com/NzPvebG how do I fix?

Do not run steam exe on your desktop.
Remove the files manually, do NOT uninstall or it erases all around it!

Only run steam exe in its own forlder!

OK so I messed it up more and moved the files that were on my desktop into the file and now steam is doing the blank screen thing https://imgur.com/k9KBlU0 i definitely screwed up more
Read about how to make steam fresh.
It requires in its OWN folder
to keep a few things.
Read about it.
These are the ones i remember:
steam exe,
userdata,
steamapps.

Check if there is more needed. Then erase the rest and run steam exe again.

In its own folder this should happen. Never forget that.

Wait so should I uninstall because thats the closest thing that I could find to fresh install it
No, just keep the few things (read if there are more than i mentioned),
erase manually the rest,
run steam exe.

Once again: Only do this is in steams own folder.

You might need to do steam settings again, but apart from that you do not lose anything. If you keep the right things in the folder.
Personally i would not use uninstall for steam at all.....

to prevent any risk it erases things around it.
