Steam has taken up 80 GB of space in my download folder for no reason
I started my download for an update to ark on my E drive then it said i didnt have "enough" disk space but i have about 40 GB left. And then i checked my downloads folder on my C drive because it was taking up space there about 10 MB/s then i found that in the downloading folder the ark update has taken up 80 GB of space there on the WRONG drive even though it is installed on my E drive. Should i delete the folder inside my downloads?

Ark is a 120+ gigabyte sized game WITHOUT mods.

I know that but i have it installed on my E drive but its still is taking up space on my C drive
In my downloads folder
It take additional space to make caches to update things(like, copy>edit>replace the updated file thing)

The worst it can be half or almost same as the whole game, depends on what it updated I mean
I just noticed i dont have a downloads folder on my E drive should i add one or install steam on that drive?
I have also not had this issue with any other game ever and its also the first time it has taken up space on my C drive while downloading to my E drive. I also cant free up more space on my C drive

Some games are having quite tight compressed formats to store it's data, which cause this problem because Steam won't just edit the files in the game folder

You can change the 'Steam Library Folders' in the Settings>Downloads btw, add and make E default should make the cache folder there, at least that's what I have

My E drive is my default
Steam will have to be on E.

:qr:
My Steam is also at C, and the downloads/updates always happened in my E library though
What should i do?
Now my download is stuck at 0 bytes/s

You can check if it's using CPU or disk, those compressed files take tons of time to process
Its using 100% of my disk

The download is waiting for your disk to unpack all the files, 0 internet activity is normal in this case.
