Buying games in China as an expat
Hi,
I have recently moved to from Denmark to China as an expat. Until now, I have kept my Steam account set to Denmark (simply haven't gotten around to change it), but I am looking into if I should update it to China.

However, I am a bit uncertain if it will either effect the games I already have in my account or if the games I buy while in China will be looked to China, such that I am unable to play them when I return to Denmark. Do anybody have any experience of knowledge of this.

Thanks in advance

Are you visiting China, or living in China for a long time?

FYI few days/weeks/months is not long time, it's half of a year, or longer which is considered long time for them from my understanding.

You only change your store if you're living somewhere for a long time, you will need address that you're living in China, and possibly some kind of credit card, or bank transfer link to your address in China in order to prove being in China.

I am living in China for the next 1 and a half and have both credit card and address. It should be no problem for me changing, but I am concerned on how the games I buy while in China will pay when I return home in 2021

You can encounter region issue when buying games. As either game will not be for sale for you due to not being allow to sell to you, you be offer a different version of the game.

Games you have on the account already shouldn't be an issue, if these or games that were region lock, will need to own game for over 90 days to bypass issue, but if you own it over 90 days you won't encounter any issues for the game to downloading. But not sure if this changed, if so then should not encounter issues at all.

If the game has multiple versions of it self you may encounter differences, due to needing to meet China guidelines to be allowed to sell in China.
