Remote Play lags alot
Me and my friend played Cuphead yesterday (me as host) without much of an issue, but today when we are trying to play it lags alot for him, the game freezes, sound stuttering and the image quality turns really bad, we both checked our connections and it's fine both ends..

He did also try to invite me into another game, but it was the same problem but for me instead.. Is the problem on steams end or is there anything we could do? have tried about everything in the steam-remote settings but nothing seems to work.. :(
We live about 1hour away from each other.

If both connections show packet loss then reboot your routers.

If both connections are fine and show no packet loss then I suggest you both close down Steam and reboot your PC's for a fresh start.

If it still occurs after rebooting your PC's and Steam, post if available a log of remote play activity, may be there is some information on there to help troubleshoot the problem.

As far as I understand Remote Play works on 1080p, 60 frames per second with a good internet connection between both parties.


Assuming you as the host have vsync off and unlimited frames then this might cause issues with how remote play streams the data at 60 frames per second.

I am basing this on "FramerateLimit" "0" which I read as unlimited, no vsync but I may be wrong.

As a test set vsync on (limiting the frames) and see if that helps.
