Specific Steam game refuses to launch . works only in safe mode ...
Hello guys !

Recently i bought a game called forager on steam. The game doesnt launch at all . no error message , it just says " Prepare to launch Forager " and then nothing !

I discover that a gog version that a friend owns and send it to me works perfectly also the steam version works on my laptop but not on my PC

I booted my PC Into Safe Mode with networking to check it out also and the Game runs normaly !

I've also tried disabling antivirus, update graphics card drivers and reinstalling the game even steam it self and nothing works

Anyone has any idea what is going on ? Why the specific game brings me so much trouble and it conflicts with something on my PC ?

Thanks in Advance !

If it works in safe mode but not normal boot, something running on your PC is interfering with your game. Close all non-essential software and try launching the game.

already did . the only "programs" that run on boot are some printer drivers , sound program , discord , razer synaplse , logitech software for keyboard rivatunner , msi afterburnerand steel series headset drivers program

Try disabling Razer Synapse, it's a program that's known to cause issues.

Close Razer Synapse, Afterburner, Discord, and RivaTuner. Those are definitely not essential. Test the game(s) again.

i think it was riva tuner or msi after burner ! cant i just disable riva tunner and not unistall it ? caus when ever i try to kill the proccess on task manager it still opens all the time !

You can try enabling them one by one until the game doesn't launch, that will allow you to single out what is causing the problem. Yes, disabling the software should be fine, though I wonder why it's launching itself in the first place (outside of starting with your PC.)

i have no idea i even uncheck tohe start with windows option and it starts when msi afterburner is on . so i guess i need to disable all monitoring or unistall riva tunner

I tryied over 10 different solutions for playing any of the resident evil games, nothing worked, i was about to ask for a refund, but then this post helped, i simply exited msi after burner and some stuff that goes with it and it worked, i always use msi after burner to monitor frames in game, but these are older games before msi after burner was around. thanks for the help.
