Annoying yellow / green tint in fullscreen only for Valve games :Gmod (source engine), HL, HL2, TF2, CSS, CSGO, exc.
I keep getting a annoying yellow/ greenish tint when i play any Valve title in full screen. Only valve. any other game on steam is fine. Yes, I could play in border less window but games like tf2 dont have that so I'm hoping to find some answer here.

So you haven't checked for color profiles?

I have tried changing the colors via my monitor settings, Windows colors management and in nvidia settings all of them still have the greenish tint. Right now im just using my custom windows color profile.

OK, custom profile. Disable it so you'll run the default profile. That should turn your desktop yellow/green. Adjust monitor settings afterwards.

Could you please post a screenshot? Because... not really sure what you mean, have you enabled a setting and forgotten about it, or changed hardware / drivers for your video card? Is your computer using the card to play, or the onboard chipset instead?

Check the color profile. I bet your monitor applies the tint with your OS compensating for that with a non-default color profile. Full screen games don't render through the OS so they don't use the profile.
Check if that's the case and if yes, adjust your monitor's settings directly so it'll look good with defaults.

Or run TF2 in a borderless Window, Valve named that setting "Aero optimization".

I am using a GPU to play, i did not change any settings in any of those games ive reinstalled them several times, I changed to a 144hz monitor that did have a greenish tint but its not the same and i fixed that in the monitors own settings. I can try screenshots with my phone but when i take a printscreen you don't see it. It's only in fullscreen and only valve games.

Graphics drivers are up to date. (I have a 2060 super)

OK, custom profile. Disable it so you'll run the default profile. That should turn your desktop yellow/green. Adjust monitor settings afterwards.

Okay, I tried this. but i could never get the same colors like i have now. Because my Asus monitor uses this stupid 6 color hue and saturation ♥♥♥♥ instead of just a normal RGB slider. I've tweaked and tweaked and tweaked and it just never looks right. But thanks for the help atleast i know what the problem is.

Well, you can still run Source games in a borderless window, at least.
JustGamingBOT Mar 3, 2020 @ 3:37am
It's just weird that its only valve games and not anythings else because, every other steam game is fine. out of the 100+ games i have its only games that use source engine. just kinda annoying

You haven't tried all of them, have you? Games disregarding color profiles ain't news. I had problems similar to yours with my monitor & the Killing Floor games.

Add Killing Floor 1 on the list of games disregarding the color profile. Not sure about KF2 though.
