Download keeps stopping and starting

This is driving me insane. I usually download at 50mb/s but lately steam has been pretty messy. I am trying to download a update, 20Gb shouldnt take me that long, taken me all day so far. The download speed goes up to the full 50, and then just stops, goes up to 50 again for a second and dies again. THE ENTIRE TIME. I have tried just about anything and my wifi is fine for every other service but steam I have tried: Change download region, Download speed setting set as limited and unlimited, Restart and reset router, different wifi, Change PC settings, launch as administrator, nothing helps.

I have indeed had this problem as well. What helped for me was downloading on internet cable instead of wifi. I hope this works for you as well!
