Blocking publishers?
Is it possible to block specific publishers from appearing in search results? I've absolutely had it with a specific one (believe or not, it isn't EA) and want to avoid accidentally purchasing any more games from them.

You can block devs/pubs already IF they have a dev/pub page.

Example... https://store.steampowered.com/developer/bethesda

Click on the little cog icon on the right.

Do you not make note of the Publisher Name on the store page before you click to purchase?
You accidentally purchase games?
And do you not buy games because they look enjoyable?

What I meant is that I failed to notice the particular publisher. Rarely happens, but blocking them would make it even less common. Also, most games I buy I do end up enjoying. Except ones from certain publishers that tend to contain more bugs than features.

I've blocked EA (the company) specifically, and it worked. Store now filters out all EA games for me.

Thank god. Now I will say that the publisher I blocked is Ubisoft, which I hate even more than EA. I am wary of buying from EA, but I still do occasionally. However, with Ubisoft games I have encountered so many game-breaking bugs that it makes Bethesda games look like perfection on their day 1. Not even kidding. Every Ubisoft game I've ever tried on PC (except Driver: SF) has been FUBAR in one way or another.

If you use firefox they have a plugin that allows you to write notes on steam pages. Its very handy if you want to remind yourself why you were avoiding a title or publisher. You can write full on paragraphs if you want.

Note that this doesn't actually block it from showing up in your searches.

You can hide ignored games in searches under the Narrow by Preferences section.

Blocked publishes don't count as "ignored games".

well at least it is a start and if you are searching for a specific game, than you should be aware of the content, quality and publisher...

Sorely lacking feature.

While it's great that smaller devs/publishers can find a market on Steam, the downside is that it's turning into kind of a mess like Google Play/App Store where there's so much junk swamping the store that it's actually hard to find anything worthwhile. Not as bad, but there's plenty of clutter.

I'd like to be able to have some control by filtering out specific devs/publishers as they are dodgy, or simply clutter, and I want nothing to do with them.
Being able to entirely filter these out from my Steam store/recommendations, would be a most welcome feature.

i know this is an old thread but Steam really needs to do something about this. A dev just revoked all keys to a product i paid for and other than going to every single game and choosing ignore i have no way of blocking the dev altogether because they don't have a store front. This also means i'll keep seeing new titles possibly and do not want to give them any of my money. What a joke.

If you have issues with a dev revoking access to their game, report it via the store page.
