my mic icon goes red with a slash through it when i hold v

whenever i hold v it mutes me. this is only when i have mic defaults on but no one can hear me either way and my mouth doesn't move. i have been on vrchat for about two weeks and this has never happened before. i have tried everything i could find but i really need your help. if you know how to help me please do.
