I moved all game files to another drive but the games are still in the original drive?
After moving my whole library from C drive to E drive, i noticed there are still many game files in C drive that i know i moved to E. Are these safe to delete? Or should i manually move them to the E drive steam folder? Are they local saves? Copies of existing folders? So many questions! Just wondering if anyone encountered this before and how i should go about clearing up C drive of all game files without having either duplicates in E drive or corrupt game data. Thanks in advance for your time!
Also, in case it matters, I used the handy "Move install folder" option through steam to move all the games over.

dont think so, not sure why files are at old location, try rude ways then move all content to own xyz folder as test and start steam and check if games are at new location.
if not then you know why someting not work as it should. move files back and force move through app again.

idea with xyz folder to get steam to dont see installed game anymore after restart, or put back games and do rep at lib folder at steam menu download and steam lib folder right click drev and rep it.

ill give that a shot too, i deleted all borderlands 2 files from C and launched it for a test run. What i appear to have deleted was my saved screen resolution and graphics settings but that seemed to be all it was, same character at what i think was the same exit save. When i opened C drive file up after exiting, the exact same borderlands 2 files were back in C that i had just deleted. Im assuming its just graphics settings in the rest of the game files left in C drive and they dont take up a whole lot of space so im going to leave them alone till something actually conflicts. If anyone else has any more insight on this it would be cool to know how to have those files go to my other drive automatically instead of C drive, thanks!

Did you COPY or did you MOVE?

They're radically different.

Just make sure that your userdata folders are backed up, because those are where Steam will normally store all the games' screenshots, if you need those.

Make sure that when you're trying to run the game from its new location, Steam has it actually correct when you run it. Right-click Properties for the game should include the location.

Just manually copying/moving the gamefiles isnt enough, you also need to copy/move the appmanifest to the new drive/library too.

Or just use the Steam internal method to change a games path

he used the local files move function "Move install folder" option through steam to move all the games over. ( contact steam support they maybe want to look at this )

I contacted steam support just now, gonna hear back on it soon. While typing it out and half thinking out loud, it might be nvidia's saved graphics files per game that i was just playing with. It makes the most sense so far, im looking more into nvidia's settings now.

I used the stream internal method of moving game folders from my C drive to another drive and STILL all the game files are now on my C drive and the new storage drive, I can not uninstall them from my C drive as they are now shown on the new drive but the space on my C drive is still taken up. I did not want to just delete the files from my C drive and cause isues doing that, but the steam process only seems to copy the files from C to another. What gives? I used the move installation folder from within steam.

FIX: I moved game files through steam from C drive to E drive. Game files were still on C. I uninstalled the game (from C) through steam. The files on C were removed. The Files on E were still there. Then i Installed the game again on E. It used the files that were Still on E and left C empty.

Plus don't forget to make sure that the files are already on both drives before you uninstal. Some may have switched to secondary drive and removed from C.
