How to change game path....
Hello all.

My 1TB HDD (D:) was full of games. I bought a new SSD (F:) and moved the Steam app to F:. I then moved only a few games to F:. (I followed Steams directions on how to do both moves.) The new location of the Steam app, F:, shows all games in my library are installed locally on F:. This isn't true. Only a few games were moved to F:, while I left the rest on D:. When I look at the paths in Steam it shows F: for all games. How can I change the path so it points to the game files on D:? Is there a way to do this without downloading again?

The down side is automatic updates are now downloading the games to F:. I searched for a solution already but haven't found one. I did see to create a new library but it has to be empty and I'll have to download the games again. I am trying to avoid this as I don't know if I will lose my saved game files.

Thank you in advance for the help.

I could probably fix it with direct access to to machine but not sure if I could talk you through it

Chances of getting it fixed go way down unless I could see everything and it would take ten times longer

I really don't know about the updates. Haven't paid that much attention on my machines. I'd want to fix your location information, that might clear everything up.

steam menu library - then steam folder lib, then right click lib to rep it at both drev.

ps.
this could also just be display it wrong , if all games work anyway.because you did what steam says, you might want to contact steam support, they are the only ones that can change it anyway, and do explan them step by step, its always hard to understand others, unless you know what issue is.

imo you should have use local files and move installed game folder to other drev, if multi disk was added first. ( and this could be what you have done already )

in old day i move all to D game drev included steam itself , and restart steam, alll work no issue at all. ( problem is split and how you do it. and did you got all files folder with current game ) and i bet thats why move install folder is added. per right click at each game in local files.

Why not keeping Steam & games together on F?

Presumably you moved all of your appmanifest files but left the game folders behind?

Figure out which ones go with the games you want on the HDD and put them back.

What does this even mean? What is a drev, is that supposed to be drive? Rep? I'm so confused by your posts.
